Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Sunday, Nov. 3: At 2:21 am a deputy attempted to catch a dog running at large on Hwy 30 near R Ave west of Grand Junction. At 3:11 pm a deputy, Jefferson fire department, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle accident on 240th St and J Ave west of Jefferson. Kathleen Shaw, 79, of Spirit Lake was northbound on J Ave. She failed to stop at the posted sign at the intersection with 240th St and struck an eastbound vehicle operated by Amy Cosentino, 35, of Jefferson. There were no injuries.
Shaw was cited for failure to obey traffic device and failure to yield the right of way. Damage to Shaw’s 2012 Toyota Prius and to Cosentino’s 2022 Honda Odyssey was estimated at $5,000. At 3:39 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 800 block of B Ave in Kendrick Township. At 4:10 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 800 block of Percival St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, Nov. 2: At 12 am Jesse Edward, 41, of Fort Dodge was booked into the jail on charges of burglary- third degree and a probation violation*. At 3:20 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect on Hwy 144 near 195th St north of Grand Junction.
Friday, Nov. 1: At 9:49 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Hwy 4 near 210th St north of Jefferson. At 3:36 pm a deputy investigated a noise complaint in the 100 block of Green St in Paton. At 6:10 pm a deputy investigated a child custody issue in the 1100 block of Lincoln St in Scranton.
